KIND News for Kind Teachers
The Minnesota Valley Humane Society, in association with the Youth Division of the Humane Society of the United States, provides subscriptions for KIND News to local classrooms. KIND News teaches students about responsible pet care, and also focuses on good character by emphasizing core values such as honesty, compassion, and fairness. It aims to teach children the importance of treating animals, natural habitats, and one another with kindness and respect. Learn more about KIND News at www.kindnews.org.
Approximately 35,000 teachers use the monthly newspaper nationwide to supplement their science, reading, writing, and character education curricula. For more information about a subscription to KIND News please send an inquiry to MVHS' Humane Educator, Kara DeVriendt at KaraD@MVHSpets.org
Community members can also get involved through our Adopt-a-Classroom Program. The cost is just $30 for each classroom, which receive 28 copies of KIND News September through May.
