Join the MVHS Volunteer Team!
Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the Minnesota Valley Humane Society. We rely on volunteers to complete our mission. We are looking for energetic, self-motivated, independent volunteers to help us at our facility in Burnsville. MVHS will provide you with all the training you need. The training will take a minimum of 16 hours and consist of the following:
- Orientation that will give you an introduction to MVHS and it’s mission
- Take home information with review sheets
- Lectures, hands on classes and discussion groups for every position
- Mentored shifts that will make sure you are 100% comfortable with the position you chose
We do need you to remain a volunteer for at least six months and to volunteer at MVHS at least twice a month. All positions do require a schedule. We DO NOT have opportunities for those of you needing to fulfill a community service hour requirement. You have to be at least 16 years old to volunteer at MVHS!
Due to overwhelming attendance at the March Orientation we will not be scheduling another one until further notice. We hope to be able to accept new volunteers in the Fall of 2009. We apologize for any inconvenience and are grateful for all the support from our community!
