Animal Career Exploring

Animal Career Exploring

Explore Animal Careers!

The Minnesota Valley Humane Society is an Exploring Post through the Northern Star Council for kids in the South Metro who wish to explore career choices with animals. Exploring offers kids in grades 9-12 an opportunity to explore animal-related careers with MVHS' Humane Educator.

The Exploring group meets at various locations throughout the Twin Cities Metro Area; during the 2008-2009 school year we visited such places as Cedarview Animal Hospital in Apple Valley, Underwater Adventures, the University of Minnesota Veterinary Medical Center, and American Boarding Kennels.

During the 2008-2009 school year, the Minnesota Valley Humane Society won the "New Post of the Year" award with the Exploring Program!

Exploring with MVHS in the 2009-2010 school year will be held on the 3rd Monday evening of each month September through April.  Students will need to have their own transportation to each location.  Group size is limited to 20 students.

Students CAN join the program mid year.
